Here are photos from Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. While most people automatically think of the Little Mermaid statue when they think of Copenhagen, there is much more to the city. I’ve had the opportunity to visit Copenhagen on four cruises plus a several-day stay.
Stuart Gustafson personally took each photograph displayed, and the copyrighted images are owned by him. If you click on a thumbnail image, you will see a larger and more complete picture that opens in a separate window.
The Little Mermaid — there are usually throngs getting close to this diminutive statue, even those climbing on to get their selfie. There is an interesting story behind her creation in 1913; here’s a short version. By the way, what we see is a copy; the original has been stored away in a secret place for safety reasons.
Tivoli Gardens — the second oldest amusement park in Europe, Tivoli Gardens opened in 1843 and it’s still a delight for all ages today.

Canals — Amsterdam is known for its canals, but they’re also are a popular attraction and vital part of Copenhagen.
Miscellaneous — You can walk around town, plus there are reasonable transit passes, but I’d recommend taking a Hop On-Hop Off Bus to see the main sights (at least for the first time).
